Hello, friend. Welcome back to Authorized Sword Ministries.

We're so glad you're here again.

Where We've Been

In Lesson One, we saw that Jesus is the eternal Son of God, who became a man.

In Lesson Two, we saw how He lived. He "went about doing good."

In Lesson Three, we saw why He died. He is "the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." And He rose again the third day.

Today is Lesson Four, the last lesson in this course. It's called "The King Is Coming." Because the story of Jesus isn't finished yet. He is coming back.

Our Key Verse

Here is our key verse. The night before the cross, Jesus comforted His disciples with this promise:

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." — John 14:2-3 (KJV)

"I will come again." Jesus said it Himself. And Jesus always keeps His word.

He Came Once, He Will Come Again

The first time Jesus came, He came as a baby in a manger, and then as a Lamb to the cross. The next time, He comes as King. The Bible puts both comings side by side:

"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." — Hebrews 9:28 (KJV)

The first time, He came to deal with sin. The second time, He comes to bring His people home.

What It Will Be Like

Paul tells us what will happen for those who belong to Christ:

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." — 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV)

Look at the last words. "So shall we ever be with the Lord." That's the heart of it. Heaven is wonderful because Jesus is there.

And when we see Him, He will change us:

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." — 1 John 3:2-3 (KJV)

No More Tears

Life in this world is full of sorrow. Sickness. Grief. Goodbyes at the graveside. But listen to what God promises His people:

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." — Revelation 21:4 (KJV)

Friend, if you belong to Jesus, your hardest days are not your last days.

He Will Reign as King

When Jesus returns, the whole world will see Him for who He really is:

"And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." — Revelation 19:16 (KJV)

In Lesson One, we read Isaiah's promise that "the government shall be upon his shoulder." The very next verse says:

"Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this." — Isaiah 9:7 (KJV)

And one day, every person who ever lived will bow before Him:

"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." — Philippians 2:9-11 (KJV)

Every knee will bow. The only question is whether you bow to Him now, by faith, as your Saviour, or later, as your Judge.

When Will He Come?

People often ask, "When will Jesus come back?" The honest answer is, only God knows. Jesus said:

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." — Matthew 24:36 (KJV)

So don't trust anyone who claims to know the date. Instead, do what Jesus said:

"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." — Matthew 24:44 (KJV)

Why Hasn't He Come Yet?

Some people say, "It's been a long time. Maybe He isn't coming." But Peter tells us why the Lord is waiting:

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." — 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)

Friend, the Lord's patience is mercy. He is giving people time to come to Him. And that includes you.

Are You Ready?

So, who is Jesus? He is the eternal Son of God and the Creator. He is the One who went about doing good. He is the Lamb of God who died for our sins and rose again. And He is the King who is coming back.

Are you ready to meet Him? If you've never trusted Him, don't wait. Turn from your sin and put your faith in Jesus Christ alone. Then you can look for His coming with joy, not fear.

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;" — Titus 2:13 (KJV)

A Prayer

Before we go, let's pray together.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this friend who is listening right now.

Thank You that Jesus is coming again, just as He promised, to receive His people to Himself.

Lord, if anyone hearing this isn't ready, help them to turn to Jesus today, while there is still time.

And help all of us who know Him to live ready, looking for that blessed hope.

In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

What's Next

This is the end of our course, Who Is Jesus. If you haven't yet, we invite you to walk through The Way of Salvation, which shows step by step from the Bible how you can be saved.

Thank you for walking through this course with us. The Bible ends with Jesus' own promise, and a prayer:

"He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus." — Revelation 22:20 (KJV)

From all of us at Authorized Sword Ministries, God bless you.
